orbit treaty / Comparison · Reinsurance / In PoC

Two nearly identical slips. Every difference, flagged.

orbit treaty takes two reinsurance slips, sets one as the base, and checks the other criterion by criterion: premium, period, instalments, limits, deductibles, and clauses. Every difference is explained and the slip is never modified. Today it is a functional PoC definition: we say so before you ask.

01 · Context

The problem we are solving.

The quotation slip goes out with one set of terms and the confirmation slip comes back with another: the difference can sit in the premium, the instalments, or an NMA clause on page 300 of a four-hundred-page facultative placement. Today that comparison is done by eye and, if something slips through, the cover signed is not the cover requested. orbit treaty checks both documents in full and explains every difference.

02 · What it is

orbit treaty in one sentence

A tool that sets one slip as the base document, pulls out its verifiable criteria, and validates against the second whether each one is met, partially met, or not met, with a match percentage per section and suggested wording for every difference.

03 · How it works

Four steps. No magic.

A clear, governed, auditable process, from the first datum to the result.

01

Load both slips

One is set as the base document, the one that defines what must be met, and the other as the document to validate.

02

Criteria are pulled out

The base document yields its verifiable criteria: premium, period, instalments, limits, deductibles, and clauses, each with a criticality level.

03

Every criterion is checked

Each one comes back as met, partially met, or not met, with a match percentage by section, by item, and overall.

04

Every difference is explained

The finding states what the base expected, what the reviewed document says, and exactly how they differ, with suggested wording. The analyst decides.

04 · What it does

Where it goes to work.

The four ways of applying the check defined for the PoC. The definition was built on a facultative placement; extending it to treaty business is yet to be proven.

01

Quotation vs. confirmation

Verify that the signed slip answers what was requested, before it becomes final.

02

Renewal vs. prior period

The incoming period's terms against the outgoing one's: exactly what moved.

03

Multiple reinsurer responses

What each participant in the placement returns, compared against the same base document.

04

Document closeout

The match percentage and the findings stay on record as evidence of the review.

05 · Benefits

What changes when you have it.

What the check is defined to deliver. The numbers will come once the PoC runs: we do not publish figures that do not exist.

Talk about the PoC
1

No clause gets eyeballed

The check runs the full document, including clauses buried hundreds of pages in.

2

You know where the difference is

Every finding states what the base said, what the reviewed document says, and how they differ, not just that they do.

3

Deal breakers are kept separate

Critical criteria, such as premium and instalments, are flagged as blockers and never get lost among minor findings.

4

Your slip stays untouched

It highlights and suggests wording on the analyst's document but changes nothing: the underwriter keeps the call.

5

It leaves a record

Match percentage by section and by item documents what was reviewed and what came back.
